# Governance (Somnia Exchange DAO)

Somnia Exchange embraces decentralized governance as a core principle. To that end, it will launch the Somnia Exchange DAO to empower token holders with real control over the project’s development and direction.

Core features of the DAO:

* Proposal Creation\
  Users who stake a certain amount of Nia will be able to submit formal proposals.
* Voting Rights\
  All Nia holders will be able to vote on active proposals, influencing key decisions.
* Onchain Execution\
  All governance actions will be traceable and verifiable directly on the blockchain.
* Transparency\
  All voting and proposal results will be publicly viewable and auditable.

The DAO is more than a decision making tool. It represents the community’s right to shape the platform they help build.
